Weforest Reforest organization
Weforest Reforestation Organization
Our reforestation projects work with governments, local organizations and communities to restore threatened forests and landscapes in tropical regions and biodiversity hotspots.
Our focus is on sustainable restoration and supporting the well-being of the communities where we work.

We’re taking a leading role in growing the 1 trillion trees needed by 2030 to reverse global warming and restore the biodiversity and water to sustain all life on Earth.

Why Forest and Landscape Restoration?

Forests are one of the most powerful solutions to address the effects of climate change. They are also a powerful force to lift people out of poverty, conserve biodiversity and reverse desertification.

But rather than just planting more trees, we work to restore landscapes and protect them from deforestation in the long term.

People
As well as supplying clean water and air, forests are a source of livelihoods for local communities.

More than a tree planting organization

What gets measured gets managed.

SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, time-bound) indicators form the core of our Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) strategy. We monitor:

  • Forest and biomass growth

  • Carbon sequestration in trees and soil

  • Wildlife conservation

  • Soil and water conservation

  • Community resilience

  • Poverty alleviation
